Resilience & Recovery
To know hardship, grief,
to endure pain, suffering,
may make us stronger.
…
They’re war casualties,
endured the unthinkable.
Survived after all.
…
Wildfire victims,
from the ashes they will rise.
Not giving up, yet.
…
Made the decision
to follow a new vision,
though blurry and dim.
…
They keep on walking.
The fallen create archways.
The way out is through.
…
Continuously,
waves rise, break, fall, come and go.
Day and night. Repeat.
Ever constantly,
heartbeats pound, sap and air flow,
while there is still life.
…
To move on, forward,
sort, cull, leave most things behind.
Keep looking ahead.
Yes, forging ahead.
Step by step, and come what may.
Homeward bound we are.
…
Walls, dams, barriers,
mazes leading to dead ends.
Challenge: and now, what?
Turning in circles,
detours, dens, deep rabbit holes.
We'll get there somehow.
