Guidance
May we serve as guides.
May we ask for wise guidance.
Compass: Love, kindness.
May Love’s light lead us
when our eyes can’t find the path,
when darkness blinds us.
May Love's light lead us
through troubles' trials, travails,
to liberation.
May we find our way
through confusion and conflict,
through challenge and change.
May we all be freed
from worries' webs, snares, traps, tricks.
Love’s wisdom guide us.
Love’s wisdom guide us,
step by step by step by step.
We advance with faith.
May Love’s wisdom
guide our thoughts, words, acts.
May Love’s peace
fill our towns, streets, minds.
May Love’s goodness
fuel our homes, hearths, hearts.
May we find
gentleness,
goodness,
grace,
when feeling
sad,
strained,
stressed.
May we find
or figure out paths
between the hopeful
‘what if’s’
and the actualized
‘what is.’
We ask for guidance
for our sight, speech,
steps, souls.
We ask for guidance
to choose Good,
to do Good,
doubtless or doubtful,
trusting, from the depth of our hearts.
We ask for guidance and wisdom
to know what to do each day.
We ask for valor and vitality
to be able to do it.
We ask for guidance
and inspiration
so that we can make
our contribution.
We ask to be led to lead,
to be taught to teach,
to be assisted to assist.
We ask for guidance
to recognize, to remember
what will allow us
to respond with what is true, what is real,
what is accurate, what is right,
what is proper and precise,
what is opportune, fitting, fair,
what is beneficial and benign,
what is effective, efficacious, efficient,
what is due to each moment,
to each choice and decision.
May we open ourselves
to wise guidance
to know what to do, say,
refrain from doing, refrain from saying.
To know what goes first, second,
later, never.
To know where to go.
To know who to follow,
and who to serve.
To know how to learn,
how to teach,
how to love, how to live,
how to walk, how to be.
May we open ourselves to
and remain
alert and attentive
to Goodness’ and Grace’s
gentleness
and guidance.
May we recognize
the signs
of precaution,
of direction,
of confirmation,
of correction.
We ask for feedback cues.
How well are we playing our role?
How well are we singing our song?
May we not let ourselves get off tune.
May we not let ourselves be detoured.
May we not let ourselves get side-tracked
by what is not important, urgent,
significant, transcendent.
May we follow
the crumbs on the path
left behind by wise ones
who came through before us.
May we lead
leaving enough crumbs
for the many more
who will come behind us.
May we guard our gate.
May we walk our way.
May we find our fate.
May we find a way
forward.
May we find a way
among and around all.
May we find a way
through.
May we find a way
home.
We ask for guidance
to be led to ways
that lead us home,
to learn how walk
our way back home.
We ask for guidance
to see and to step
home-bound
with gratitude, generosity,
with goodness and grace.
May we learn
a good way.
May we teach
a good way.
May we walk
a good way.
May we remember
that there is more than one
Good way.
And,
if and when we are not going
with those who are good
for something good,
may we get out of the way.
We ask for direction
as we focus our attention,
as we organize,
as we the pending matters prioritize.
We ask for direction
as we orient ourselves,
as we make choices,
as we engage our mind and hands.
We ask for direction
as we perform our daily duties,
so that each time, in each place, and on each task
Goodness plays the leading part.
