Energy
May we have enough
energy to energize
what is essential.
May we have enough energy
to stop what harms and hurts,
to start what heals and helps.
May we, fueled with diligence and discipline,
serve as vitamin,
not as guillotine.
May we charge each other’s batteries.
May we encourage those we encounter.
May we encourage courage.
May we convey courage.
Courage to try,
courage to trust.
Courage to weep,
courage to work.
Courage to learn,
courage to love.
May our grace-gifted, grace-full, grateful
bodies and brains
have enough energy
for living, loving, learning,
for as long as they can keep on
smiling, sharing, serving.
We ask for fortitude,
for when strength and faith
falter or fail.
May difficulty, duress and depletion lead us,
not to lose faith,
but to find fortitude in faith.
We ask for vision and vitality,
so that we can…
Accept the inevitable.
Act in the present towards the Good possible.
Alleviate the suffering of the grieving.
Lighten the burden of the oppressed.
Hasten the pace of the slothful.
Help the vulnerable,
by prompting the powerful
to use their power for the greater Good.
When we don’t
write, wonder, wander or walk,
may we simply
try to trust,
to truthfully tread the trail,
to truly 'walk the talk.'
We ask to serve
as satellites of your sun,
as Your daughters, as Your sons,
as instruments in Your song.
We ask for energy, strength, patience,
discernment, perseverance, conscience,
lessons, challenges, experience,
a way, our world, without violence.
We ask that from leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds
we learn to draw and brew good teas.
We ask that dogs and cats don’t itch from fleas.
We ask that midnight’s end doesn’t come,
yet,
while there is still some joy, energy, harmony.
Yours, ours, everyone’s.
We ask for energy
to be able to do
what we learn from wise guides,
to skillfully do.
