Surrenderings

Here we surrender to render.
Aware, alert.
Attentive to Your address.

We offer ourselves,

available,

ready for Your riddles.

We show up
every morrow
of each today,
towards tomorrow.

We welcome another day.

We present ourselves,

reporting to work,

saying ‘Here!’

Here we are.

To do what is here to be done.
To say what is here to be said.
To go wherever we can serve.

We report to the post

where we have been posted,

willing here, wherever,

for this and whatever.

Here, present!

Drifting, anchored,

changing, constant,

in this instant,

ever onward.

Now,

here,

we give ourselves

to Your grace,

to Your mercy,

to Your Goodness,

to You.

We believe and trust

in Good and Grace,

call it God

or something else.

We entrust our day
to Your omniscience.

We fill ourselves

with faith,

with fervor,

trusting, cheerful.

With hallelujah and amen,

with joy and praise,

with love and thanks,

we present to this Your place.

We, the five-fingered ones,
turn to You with reverence,
with devotion,

pulsating with life,
looking for light,
vibrating with yearning,

ready for learning,

wandering this globe,

eager for love.

When tired, may we find rest

in the embrace of Your grace.

When weak, may we find strength

in the embrace of Your grace.

When hurting, may we find relief

in the embrace of Your grace.

When ill, may we find healing

in the embrace of Your grace.

When sad, may we find consolation

in the embrace of Your grace.

When discouraged, may we find hope

in the embrace of Your grace.

When stressed, may we find ease

in the embrace of Your grace.

When angry, may we find peace

in the embrace of Your grace.

When afraid, may we find refuge

in the embrace of Your grace.

When lost, may we find home

in the embrace of Your grace.

In Your embrace,

all is well, fine.
In Your wise mind,

we’re all divine.
In Your warm hands,

I’m placing mine.

We present here to help.

We pray for Your help.
