Sayings
Intention:
Popular sayings and proverbs communicate observations that can be profound as well as ordinary. They reflect global ‘truths’, fundamental principles, and standards of conduct in the form of metaphors. Sayings can represent the values of a family or group, and are passed from generation to generation.
Our favorite sayings say something about where we come from, what we believe in, and who we are.
Since sayings can inspire us in everyday and important decisions, here we provide a space listing and collecting some of our favorite sayings.
Instruction:
Write or copy sayings that are meaningful to you.
You can include those you learned as a child, which may not apply to you now, those that have stood the test of time to the present, those you have recently learned or adopted, even original sayings that you have invented or modified.
Feel free to incorporate related anecdotes, illustrations, and reflections.
Here we offer some guiding questions.
