This little pebble,

staying put right here,

of modest vignettes is subject and protagonist.

This little pebble,

sitting quietly here,

witness to much

living, dying,

spectator of plenty

shifts, changes, happenings,

through millennia, many moments, years.

This little pebble,

resting still here,

sign and symbol, showing

the temporary, the transitory

of everyone and everything,

of what gradually or suddenly

becomes

the next manifestation

of its evolution.
