Trees
I see
many trees:
shade trees, bare trees
fruit trees, flower trees,
small young trees, large old trees,
and my favorite type of tree
where a treehouse hides my treats.
Leaves,
branches,
trunks,
roots,
birds,
squirrels,
friends,
and me!
Leaving
Leaves leave the tree when they fall in the fall.
Leaving for. Leaving behind. Leave-taking.
Do you mean, like in the book,
that the panda eats shoots & leaves?
Or that the panda eats, shoots & leaves?
‘Are you going to leave all that food?’
expression only heard among the affluent.
‘Last night he left this world,’
euphemism following death’s last breath.
Each second is leaving the present behind.
Who likes being left behind or left out?
Most don’t mind lefties when writing and pitching.
Some proudly lean left when voting.
‘Don’t leave me!’ says the teen to the lover.
‘Leave me alone!’ says same teen to the parent.
Leave it alone, let sleeping dogs lie. And leave.
Leave of absence. Love makes absence livable.
Leaving after lovemaking leaves lovers lonely.
Leave-taking leaves the leavee longing.
Which way to leaving lovingly?
Some say ‘I’ll leave you’ after saying ‘I love you.’
Leaving tastes bittersweet.
It matters how we leave.
Leaving for good is sometimes a lie.
Leaving is harder when there is loving.
They are only a few vowels apart.
Let
Let’s
Let
Life,
Light,
Love
Lead.
Let’s
Let it go,
Let it be,
Let it,
Let.
Let Live,
Laugh,
Lose,
Learn,
Love.
Repeat.
Trying Trust
Try, then trust.
Try again, trust again.
Try at least once, trust every time.
Trying and trusting are up to us.
The outcomes are not.
Making
Making do.
Making soup.
Making art.
Making memories.
Making love.
Duties
Loving Life.
Baking Bread.
Sowing Seeds.
Sewing Shirts.
Washing Windows.
Writing Words.
Ways
When We
Walk,
We
Wander.
When We
Write,
We
Wonder.

We Women Weave With Warm Wool
Will, Wit, Water, Wonder, Wisdom.
Wow!
Holiness
Wholesomely holy
we are all at the core.
A belief, an assumption
that leads to love more.
Of Note
High note, low note.
Musical note, mental note, written note.
All for naught?
Hail
Good news in the mail.
We see, hear, taste, smell.
Slowly goes the snail.
Hammer pounds the nail.
Sweet tales fill the pail
behind Maya’s veil.
Patterns
Spots, stripes, and patches
wherever I go:
at home, in the zoo,
in the sky, and my clothes.
My Dalmatian, fast cheetahs,
and a starry night sky
have spots all around them,
and so does my cap.
My fish, zebras, tigers,
rainbows, and some shirts
have one, two, three, four, five,
and more stripes on them.
My cat, cows, giraffes,
and a cloudy blue sky
have patches all over,
as I do on my pants!
Babe
I see your eyes,
they make me smile.
I hear your voice,
my favorite noise.
I like your nose,
let’s smell a rose.
I feel your touch,
it makes me blush.
You play with bugs,
I love your hugs!
Always
I love you every morning.
I love you every night.
I love you when it’s hot
I love you when it’s not.
I love you when together,
and when we are apart.
I love you when you smile,
and also, when you cry.
Heartening
Our hearts are still beating,
skipping
a beat when awed,
ticking
like time bombs
that blow our minds,
not our brains.
Tissue, muscle, chambers, valves,
doing what they do,
to keep life’s liquids
flowing, circulating,
animating this animal costume,
capable of scaring off our kin,
gentle creatures that were here first.
No worries, sibs,
we’re not heartless.
Sorry, sibs,
we're still learning.
All
All beings, all goods,
are here but to serve.
No one and no thing
is left at the end.
