Wisdom
· Perhaps every statement and sentence should be preceded by a 'perhaps,' because nothing is guaranteed, assured, and we know little, no matter how much we know.
· We know little, but enough for what’s needed now.
· We don’t need to know it all, even if such were possible.
· There’s nothing wrong with aspiring to know more; it is probably wiser to intend to know better.
· Wisdom: To admit that we know little, to accept that much is mystery, to find and fulfill our ministry.
· Wisdom: Living with awareness, with more than intelligence, with love and reverence.
· Wisdom and kindness are the wings of the bird that knows how to soar high and fly far.
· Wisdom and kindness underlie, overcome, transcend, transform.
· ‘Ours’ is wiser than ‘mine’, ‘yours’, ‘his’, ‘hers’, ‘theirs.’
· It is wise to learn when to hold on and when to let go.
· It is wise to turn on the lights and take off the ties.
· It is wise to know with what and whom to sympathize and synchronize.
· If wisdom were wealth, the wise would be the truly wealthy. Perhaps it is so.
· Wise and wealthy are those who know and have enough to live simply and generously.
· Opinions, duties, life, self, are to be taken seriously, and to be held lightly.
· We believe that we know, when we’re merely guessing, getting it right just often enough to have an illusion of understanding.
· The physical-chemical-biological sciences strive with methods to explore, examine, explain the marvel and mysteries of the physical-material-natural world.
· The philosophical-psychological-theological disciplines undertake studies postulating, proposing, some promising, the marvels and mysteries of the metaphysical-transpersonal-transcendental world.
· We cultivate wisdom by observing, listening, reflecting, learning, and teaching.
· We need wise guidance to learn, to serve, to learn to serve.
· We are guided by the North Star, the cardinal points, teachers, mentors, models, standards, aspirations, ideals, virtues, values.
· We can open ourselves to wise guidance to know what to do and say, refrain from doing, refrain from saying, what goes first, second, later, never, where to go, who to follow, who to serve, how to learn and how to teach, how to love, and how to be.
