Retirement

The physical retreat precipitated by the pandemic began shortly after they retired from the work that had absorbed the past thirty-some years of their not-so-short lives.

Surprisingly, this unexpected retreat became a special retreat, a so-called spiritual retreat with no end date. The retreat further embedded them in the limitless landscape of the non-human-dominated natural world, engendering earnest effort and hope-filled dedication to return to work.

This time, though, the work was exclusively, or primarily, for their principles, for the primordial, for what matters most, for the very vital, for that which is essentially essential.
