Despite and through broken hearts,a
somehow the life force still beats.

Despite suffering and grief, 
in the tunnel we proceed.
Despite regrets for the past, 
future bridges we may pass.

We can keep on, we can go on.
Despite objections and reservations.
Despite taboos, doubts, and second guessing.
Despite obstacles, dead ends, and outrage.
Despite angst, terror, and rage.

Despite losing what we earned,
May we keep what we have learned.
