kept on spreading, ravaging,
raging strong.

The luckiest ones
kept on breathing deeply,
safe, sound,
warm, working from home,
waiting for it to end.

Meanwhile, many others

kept on gasping, panting,
pleading, praying
that every moment breathing

be embraced, appreciated, treasured, used well,
up to the final amen.
