Growth

When we grow up, what do we lose? 

When do seedlings, puppies, chicks, children

cease to be ‘charming’ and ‘adorable’? 

What about the little ones

leads us to protect them,

care for them, love them? 

Their seeming innocent,

helpless? 

What about what changes

as we grow

changes our spontaneous perceptions

and inclinations

towards others as they grow?
